Mobility was ensured by giving each rider two horses, so effectively they would at least match European or Persian/Byzantine cavalry, or even exceed it due to normally significantly outnumbering them. They had a lance, to help them serve as shock cavalry, a bow and quiver, and a two handed sword. For reference, that is a ton of small iron or steel rectangles all joined together to make up the armor. They were covered totally in Lamellar Plate Armor, as were their horses. Literally comparable to the Persian Cataphracts. How did Jurchen heavy cavalry compare to European and Persian heavy cav when it comes to equipment ?
